Apology
The last time I blogged was quite a while ago and I do apologise for it, but I’ve had a pretty rotten couple of months. I don’t want to go into too many details, but basically my mum was diagnosed with ovarian cancer which has hit the family pretty hard. At first, it wasn’t known whether it would be terminal but she had an operation and is now receiving chemotherapy and is (hopefully) going to recover. It’s been hard for all of us but we’re just trying our best to get on as normal. Things have been particularly difficult recently with her hair falling out and having to explain it all to my little sister, but we’re just soldiering on. I did manage to get myself a job, though ironically as my mum’s replacement at the library, and then I had to go into hospital myself for an operation which has basically ended my summer and meant I can’t go back to work at the library before I go back to Uni. Not quite the summer I had in mind, but beggars can’t be choosers.

The Foreseeable Future
I go back to Uni next Friday and I really can’t wait for it. It’s a new year, I’m living in my own house, and I guess in many ways it’s a fresh start of sorts, a clearing of the slate. It sounds awful, but I’m also looking forward to getting away from home in a way, not because I don’t want to be home with my family, but I guess just because getting away from it all for a while will clear my head a bit. Normal blogging duties will be resumed on my brand-spanking new PC over the next couple of weeks, that I can promise you.
